Standout season for Lamborghini
Following the launch of its one-make race series in 2009, Automobili Lamborghini has had an astoundingly competitive motorsport season in 2010 thanks to its representatives in series all across the globe. The Italian marque secured countless wins, including a victory in the highly-prestigious and ultra-competitive FIA GT1 World Championship, as well as titles in ADAC GT Masters and GT3 Asia. But the season is not over yet, and Lamborghini is still in the running for further victories and even championship titles.
Lamborghini race teams Reiter Engineering and All-Inkl.com Münnich Motorsport entered a total of four Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 R-SV race cars in the newly-formed FIA GT1 World Championship. Reiter Engineering drivers Frank Kechele and Ricardo Zonta have led the way for Lamborghini and secured two Championship Race victories so far. With two events remaining, the fight is still on. Reiter Engineering is currently second in the Teams' Standings, just 18 points behind the current leader. Meanwhile, German pilot Kechele is fourth in the Drivers' Standings, with Zonta not far behind in sixth place.

Lamborghini also graced the grids of many national racing series, including Germany's ADAC GT Masters, in which Lamborghini drivers Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Peter Kox drove their Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 to title victory. The pair wrapped up the 2010 championship at the final race weekend in Oschersleben, Germany, finishing 13 points clear of their closest rivals.
Dilantha Malagamuwa secured the honours for Lamborghini in the GT3 Asia championship with three race wins at the final round. The Dilango Racing Sri Lanka driver defended from rival Lamborghini driver Hammam Sulong, with the pair finishing the championship first and second respectively.
Meanwhile, in the marque's homeland of Italy, strong performances in the Italian GT Cup class of the Italian GT Championship saw official Lamborghini test driver Giorgio Sanna and his team-mate Davide Stancheris finish joint second in the Drivers' Standings having claimed an impressive five victories in their Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4.
Lamborghini test driver Giorgio Sanna said: 'I am very happy with second place in the Championship. We have been able to show the superiority of our Gallardo, especially in the second part of the season, with the pole and two victories at Monza, ahead of manufacturers like Ferrari and Porsche."

Lamborghini's achievements for 2010 also include strong results in the FIA GT3 European Championship, Avon Tyres British GT Championship, Brazilian GT Championship and the BELCAR Endurance Championship, as well as second overall in the FFSA GT Gentlemen Trophy and an outright victory in the 12-hour Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race (MMER) in Sepang, Malaysia.
This year also marked the second year of Lamborghini's one-make series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. Contested in four-wheel drive Lamborghini Super Trofeo race cars, the highly-competitive series visited race circuits across Europe, which included the technical Paul Ricard, France, and the prestigious Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. Competition went down to the wire, with the Pro Drivers', Pro-Am Drivers' and Team titles all decided at the season finale in Italy.
'It has been a remarkable season for Lamborghini," said Automobili Lamborghini Director of Brand and Design, Manfred Fitzgerald. 'We've had great successes in series from around the world, with excellent results in the FIA GT1 World Championship a true highlight. Automobili Lamborghini further expands China operations
with two dealership openings and significant sales growth
Italian supersports car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini has opened two further dealerships in China:
Lamborghini Xiamen in the flourishing Fujian Province of China; and Lamborghini
Shanghai Central in Shanghai Xintiandi - the world-renowned luxury center - making a total of nine locations in China and Hong Kong.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., said: "Xiamen is one of the most important economic centers of China and an important strategic location for the marque, and along with Lamborghini Shanghai Central reinforces our growing brand presence and strategy for serving the strong East China market."
Lamborghini has seen more than 100% growth in Chinese sales volumes for the 2010 year to date compared to 2009. Moreover, Lamborghini's market share in the exclusive sports car segment has increased year to date from 14.9% in 2009 to 23% in 2010.
The dealerships in Xiamen and Shanghai Central are the latest developments in Automobili Lamborghini's strategy for growing its robust worldwide network, and reflect the significant success already achieved by the brand in China. In addition to Xiamen and the two dealerships in Shanghai, Lamborghini operates six dealerships in
Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
"China continues as one of our most important markets, where we continue to forecast growth," said Stephan Winkelmann. "The Chinese luxury market continues exponential growth in line with the country's economic development. The extreme,
uncompromising and Italian appeal of the Lamborghini brand is now well established and sought-out by the discerning Chinese luxury consumer."

Xiamen, with its reputation as "The Garden City", is an important Chinese financial center. The new showroom is operated by top-ten Chinese dealer group Enjoyauto Ltd. Lamborghini's second Shanghai showroom is located in the heart of Shanghai's Central Business District, among the city's leading businesses and international luxury
brands.

Automobili Lamborghini establishes Mexican representation with two dealership openings
Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A has opened two dealerships in Mexico, firmly establishing the supersports car manufacturer's presence in the country with its first official franchised locations.
Lamborghini Mexico City opened for business on 26 October as the first official Lamborghini dealership in Mexico, situated on one of the city's most frequented streets, Insurgentes Sur, where it will serve the growing local luxury market. The Mexico City opening has been followed by Lamborghini Monterrey on 27 October in the so-called "Beverly Hills of Latin America," in the municipality of San Pedro, Nuevo León.
VIPs including politicians and guests from Mexico's racing, sports, business and arts sectors joined Automobili Lamborghini personnel at the official opening in Mexico City.

"These new dealerships represent Lamborghini's commitment to expanding our presence in North America," says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. "Our Mexican clients love the brand for its unique values of being extreme, uncompromising and unmistakably Italian."
The two dealerships are owned and operated by Martin Josephi Wellmann, a 40-year veteran of the automotive industry, who previously served as President and CEO of Volkswagen of Mexico, and then branched out into the manufacture, import and sale of luxury vehicles. His son Martin Josephi Pacheco, who worked with Josephi Wellmann and for Daimler AG, will serve as Commercial Manager of the dealerships.
"We are excited to be working with Lamborghini and honored to be selected to create a dealer network in Mexico," said Josephi Wellmann. "We are confident that both Mexico City and Monterrey will embrace and grow with the Lamborghini brand."
Both the Mexico City and Monterrey dealerships will operate as solus Lamborghini franchise locations, with full sales and services facilities.
