The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 has been voted ?SportsCar of the Year? by German magazine AutoBild SportsCars. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, accepted the award for the best sports car of the year at the Essen Motor Show?s ?Race Night?.

August this year already saw the Gallardo LP 560-4 voted SportsCar of the Month by the magazine?s jury, and it has now gone on to win the battle for the accolade of ?SportsCar 2008?. As well as the magazine?s editors, the jury also included professional racing drivers and engineers from German vehicle testing agency TÜV Rhineland.

?We are delighted with this success in winning one of the most coveted awards in the German automotive sector,? commented Stephan Winkelmann. ?This honour confirms the outstanding competitive position held by the Gallardo LP 560-4 on the world stage, and reasserts the extremely positive reception it is enjoying among its customers.?

Launched in spring 2008, the new Gallardo LP 560-4 once again significantly raised the bar for super sports cars. With its new engine, permanent all-wheel drive and all-new chassis, its performance and handling have taken yet another leap forward. At the same time, the powerful elegance of the LP 560-4 displays a consistent progression of the unique Lamborghini design language.

Automobili Lamborghini, creator of the world's most exclusive super sport cars, today held the worldwide debut of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder at the Los Angeles Auto Show. As the successor to the best-selling Lamborghini of all time, the new LP 560-4 Spyder combines the Coupé's design, performance and handling characteristics with the open-air pleasure only a soft top super sports car can deliver.

As the brand's largest global market, the United States - specifically Southern California - was strategically chosen as the perfect location to unveil the new open top super sports car. In 2007, Southern California contributed to approximately 30 percent of all Lamborghini sales in the United States, maintaining its position as the country's most successful region.

"The LP 560-4 is the best example of the Gallardo to date and will be a great contribution to Lamborghini's future success," says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "The entirely new LP 560-4 Spyder adds another dimension to the Gallardo's lineage with extreme design language and class-leading performance."

The much anticipated Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder offers a new 5.2 liter engine with 40 additional horsepower than its predecessor; allowing it to sprint from 0-62 mph in only four seconds with a top speed of 201 mph. The car's agility has also been greatly refined with a new, lighter transmission, which allows increased shift times by 40 percent (Corsa Mode), combined with an all-new chassis, suspension and Lamborghini's permanent all-wheel drive system. Despite increased performance, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 18 percent.

Since 2003, more than 8,500 Gallardos have left the production facility in the birth place of all Lamborghinis in Sant'Agata, Bolognese, Italy. The Gallardo LP 560-4 Coupé was first unveiled to the world at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008 with the dynamic launch taking place in Las Vegas later that spring. Each person who experienced the new Gallardo on the track or the streets unanimously agreed: the Gallardo LP 560-4 is an all-new car that can be enjoyed on any driving surface. Since, the new Gallardo has been critically acclaimed by customers and the media for its extreme performance, aggressive design and increased drivability. The highly anticipated LP 560-4 Spyder is set to continue this legacy. The Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder is now available to order from dealers worldwide, with customer deliveries commencing Spring 2009.

In 2007, the United States market accounted for 39 percent of total Lamborghini sales worldwide and remains the brand's largest global market. Since the beginning of 2005, Automobili Lamborghini has strategically increased its global reach from 65 to 119 dealers worldwide; 31 of these dealers are located in the United States. Last year was a record year for the brand with 930 Lamborghinis delivered in the United States and 2,406 delivered worldwide.

If celebrating Christmas 'fast' is your style, then Lamborghini's range of 2008 baubles, bears, candles and cushions are now available, in the special matt black and white colours launched this year on its new 202 mph (325 km/h) Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4.
The box-set of three baubles in lightweight ceramic is available with one Nero Noctis black and two Mono Cerus white in each box: both colours available to order on the Gallardo LP 560-4. Box-sets of one black, one white, slow-burning candles are offered, and the 13-inch Lamborghini shield-embroidered cushions in the two colours complete the collection.

Lamborghini Lyon est répresenté par Legend Motors SAS, choisi par Automobili Lamborghini comme partenaire officiel pour la distribution de ses véhicules de sport de luxe pour Lyon et sa région. La société fait partie du Karner Holding, qui est un groupe automobile spécialisé dans le segment des voitures de luxe et de sport.

À l'occasion de l'inauguration sera exposée la nouvelle Lamborghini Gallardo Coupé LP560-4, qui avait été dévoilée au Salon de l'auto de Genève en mars 2008. Ce nouveau modèle remplace la Gallardo Coupé qui avait été lancée en 2003. Comme son nom le suggère, sa puissance a été portée à 560 CV avec une accélération de 0 à 100 km/h en 3,7 secondes et une vitesse de pointe de 325 km/h.

Automobili Lamborghini SpA a annoncé des résultats de vente record pour l'année 2007, avec la construction et la vente de 2406 voitures dans le monde entier: une augmentation de 15% par rapport aux 2087 voitures vendues en 2006. Au cours des dix premiers mois de l'année 2008, le prestigieux constructeur de Sant?Agata Bolognese (Italie) a livré 2101 voitures, soit une augmentation de 2,7% par rapport à la même période de l'année 2007.

En France Lamborghini a vendu 63 voitures en 2007 avec une augmentation de 43,2% par rapport aux 44 voitures livrées en 2006. On prevoit une croissance de 27% à la fin de l?année avec 80 voitures vendues. Dans les dix premiers mois de 2008, la France a enrigistré une augmentation du 26% avec 73 voitures livrées. Automobili Lamborghini a également étendu de manière stratégique son réseau global de vente en passant de 65 en 2005 à 121 concessionnaires dans le monde.

The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo -

the world's fastest one-make series. The series will debut in May 2009, and feature Lamborghini's Super Trofeo: a lightweight version of the Gallardo LP 560-4 super sports car launched earlier this year. The Super Trofeo will come with a reworked chassis, significantly reduced weight of only 1300 kg, and power output of 419 kW (570 hp) from its V10, -Iniezione Diretta Stratificata' engine. Lamborghini has a clear objective to ensure the Super Trofeo is the fastest one-make series in the world.




The race car will feature Lamborghini's permanent four-wheel drive, making the Super Trofeo the only one-make, all-wheel drive motorsport series. Lamborghini will build cars for a 30-strong grid, available to individual professional and ?gentleman' drivers, as well as Lamborghini dealer teams. One factory car, reserved for celebrity ?guest drivers', will be included in the line-up at each round.

"We're delighted to announce The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo," said Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. "Both on-track and off, our championship will reflect the Lamborghini brand, with extreme, high performance racing and stylish and luxurious trackside facilities. The first competition of the 2009 provisional calendar will run on 3 May at Silverstone Circuit in the UK, followed by Adria in Italy on 17 May; Nuremburg's Norisring in Germany on 5 July; Spa in Belgium on 2 August; Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya in Spain on 20 September; and culminating on 4 October in Monza, Italy. At Monza in ?the world's fastest one-make series'.

With the Swiss watchmaker as title sponsor, The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo will run over European race weekends alongside other prestigious series such as the FIA GT Championship, DTM and FIA WTCC (World Touring Car Championship). Either one or two drivers can register for each three-day race weekend, comprising of free practice and qualifying sessions, and three 40-minute races during Saturday and Sunday. The results of the three races are added together: no success ballast is added to winning cars, and the cars cannot be modified during the season.

The Super Trofeo car and parts package is offered at 200,000 euro plus tax and entry fee, via Lamborghini dealerships, with support and parts trackside. The prestigious ?Lamborghini Village' will provide a luxurious paddock package in true Lamborghini style, for drivers, sponsors and guests.





The Super Trofeo car

The Super Trofeo race car is based on the Gallardo LP 560-4, powered by the new 5.2 litre V10 direct injection ?Iniezione Diretta Stratificata', engine, generating an increased output of 419 kW (570 hp). Its power flows through the e.gear six-speed robotized gear box to the permanent all-wheel drive with viscous traction.

The Super Trofeo is a top-class race car in every detail. Its chassis, featuring double wishbone suspension all round, has been reworked specifically for the purpose. The slick tyres are supplied by Pirelli and a specialist racing brake system provides brutal stopping power. The race car weighs in at only 1,300 kg dry, despite its additional safety cage. Additional body components such as the large, fixed rear wing are made from carbon-fibre composite. The cockpit includes ultra-light racing seat, racing steering wheel and specialized instruments.
